I often feel that drummers are the underappreciated musicians of our time, yet when I go through the list of my favourite drummers, it’s just undeniable how talented and brilliant these guys were. Ahead of their time. Musicians In their own rights.

However, let me first start by introducing you to 5 drummers that popularised the drum and push its boundaries.

It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been wanting to write a piece about the one of the most influential things in the history of music, that everyone seems to ignore. It’s always about the latest and greatest artists and albums and 1 hit wonders. Yet it’s never about the instruments and the advances in technology. Maybe it’s because of that age old saying, “a poor workman blames his tools” and that a good musician is a good musician regardless….

History however has shown us that a good musician can become a great musician with the right equipment.
